This is probably the biggest waterfall ever ran in the Southeast U.S. The first and only descent of this monster was by Pat Keller, Isaac Levinson, and Chris Gragtmans. With several attempts being thwarted by low water, finally getting this beast on film was quite the accomplishment!
Desoto Falls was first ran by Chris Gragtmans, since then a handful of paddlers have ran the falls with one descent in particular standing out by Isaac Levinson at 2000cfs. It is of note that since these first few descents paddlers should know that running the falls is illegal. There are no signs, but rest assured you will get in trouble for trying this falls. Enjoy the footage of Pat Keller and stay tuned for more about this incredible waterfall.
This little gem is an Alabama Classic. Holding a double drop cascade on river left and a clean thirty footer down the center this drop aims to please. Stay tuned as we hear stories of the early clean and not so clean attempts on this beautiful falls.
